Chapter Profile

The National Investor Relations Institute seeks to support all IR professionals in their career journey. Whether you are new to the industry, a seasoned IR executive or somewhere in between, the Cincinnati Tri-State NIRI Chapter is here to help. Our membership is rich with experience and covers southwestern Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana, across industries and companies of all sizes, including Fortune 500 to start-ups and private companies as well. The well of knowledge among our members runs deep, and we invite all who are interested to join us at our events. Our chapter programming includes opportunities to earn CPE as well as informal social events throughout the year.

The role of investor relations is unique, combining a knowledge of finance and accounting with business strategy and communication skills. Serving as a conduit between investors and a company’s top executives, some of the key duties for an IR professional are reporting public material information, complying with various disclosure rules and developing relationships with investors.

In 2016, NIRI introduced the Investor Relations Charter credential. The IRC provides a global standard for the IR industry that recognizes the abilities of professionals who obtain the designation. The IR Competency Framework includes 10 subject areas, often referred to as domains, ranging from strategy, messaging development, financial reporting and more. More information about the program, including resources for the IRC designation exam, are available at niri.org/certification.
